Ann, so funny that you found this, that you then read it then commented! You've reminded me that I have to get back to posting.

Yes, I know EXACTLY how you feel. It's always hard to practice when you're sick but, as I've discovered through trial and error, there is so much you can do while honoring your body. Simple twists and many seated stretches. And, of course, breathing!! If you just sit on the couch and practice your breathing and feel the way it moves your body and moves through your body you will help your mind to forgive your body for being such dork and getting sick.

If you're going to classes then let the instructor know you're a little sick and that you're going to listen to your body. The instructor will appreciate that you said something and maybe even give you some tips since they already know how you move.

I hope this helps!! And thanks for the kick in the butt I've needed to get back to posting. I've been practicing quite a bit and it's time to document it.

I found your website because I was looking for yoga to do when you've been sick (like I've been for over a week, with flu and fever and ugly productive cough and exhaustion, blah, blah, blah). I got into yoga last August, and now I do it twice a week (when I'm not sick like a dog) and I love it. But how do I start up again when I've been in bed or on the sofa for the past 10 days? Go to beginners' sessions? Thanks for your suggestions -- looks like you know where I'm coming from!

i am so envious! actually, i am inspired! i am doing the opposite - cooking healthier and working towards figuring out portions to have left overs and what would be good to eat left over! let's see how long it takes us to cross over hehehe
